Our Core Values
At Ruskington Chestnut Street Church of England Primary Academy we believe each individual is capable of great things. We work together in friendship, challenging ourselves and each other to be the best we can be. We aim for ‘life in all its fullness’; striving to make the world a better place through our vision of Care – Believe – Grow. We all demonstrate how we care, believe and grow through our six Christian values of: trust, compassion, perseverance, respect, forgiveness and honesty.

Willow class had a 'strange' visitor today... We came back after break to find nuts and bolts scattered everywhere and huge footprints in the class! We listened to some filming of lots of banging and crashing. We are excited to find out more... Any guesses what our new writing text may be?? #engagingcurriculum #writingunits #primaryeducation We are proud to be part of Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust making LAAT schools irresistible places of learning https://thelaat.co.uk/laat-commitment-statement/

**Let's Boost Our Fundraising Together!** We are taking part in a fantastic fundraising challenge this week alongside our friends at Horbling Browns C of E Primary School and Morton CE Primary School. Every day, the children are completing five active, sporty or fun challenges to raise money for our Trust charity, Love As Action Together. This charity has supported children across our schools in really practical, meaningful ways, and now we want to give something back. The children started their challenges today from drawing, singing and running to amazing adjectives and nature hunts! They are already putting in so much effort, enthusiasm and energy and we would love your help to make their hard work count. If you're able to sponsor them, even with a small amount, it would make a huge difference to the total we can raise and the support the charity can continue to offer. Please make your sponsorship payments via MCAS! Thank you, as always, for your kindness and generosity. Our community spirit is what makes our school so special Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust #aboveandbeyond

Hazel Class had a fantastic time during British Science Week! Last week, the children explored how everyday materials can be strengthened by getting handson with a brilliant STEM challenge: building paper bridges strong enough to hold weights. They experimented with folding, rolling, layering and shaping paper to discover how simple changes can make a huge difference to strength and stability. It was wonderful to see their creativity, teamwork and problemsolving shine. A great week of curious minds and confident young engineers in the making! #BritishScienceWeek #primaryeducation #TeamChestnut shaping curious, confident, resilient children 01526 832424 enquiries@chestnutstreet.laat.co.uk www.chestnutstreet.co.uk Proudly part of Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust

Our EYFS children enjoyed a wonderful visit to Lunettes Opticians in Ruskington. The team showed us how they help people look after their eyes and why keeping them healthy is so important. The children learned simple ways to care for their eyesight, such as eating healthy foods, taking breaks from screens, and wearing hats or sunglasses in bright sunlight. We were also able to explore some of the special machines and tools used during an eye test. The children were fascinated by the equipment and loved finding out what each one does. The optometrist explained their job and how they check whether someone needs glasses to help them see clearly. The children asked thoughtful questions and represented our school beautifully. It was a fantastic learning experience that helped them understand how our bodies work and who helps us stay healthy. Thank you so much to all the staff for being so kind, helpful and informative! #community #localvisits #engagingcurriculum # Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust #TeamChestnut - don't forget regular eye checks are so important as children grow, and having a test before they start school can make a real difference to their learning and confidence. Early detection helps them see clearly and thrive.

Today's World Book Day was a brilliant celebration of global stories and cultures. Every class focused on a different country, learning about its traditions and enjoying books by authors of many nationalities. Sycamore Class were treated to a live reading of a Māori story by Mrs Darling's aunt in New Zealand. The children loved hearing the tale and followed up by writing letters to thank her and find out more about life and storytelling in her culture. A big well done to all our pupils for embracing the day with such enthusiasm! #worldbookday2026 #PrimarySchool #CultureAndTradition 01526 832424 enquiries@chestnutstreet.laat.co.uk Part of Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust
